Privacy policy
This is placeholder text, not legal advice. It must be reviewed by someone qualified, against the law that applies to you, before you launch.
What we collect
- Account details — your name and email address when you register.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Newsletter subscription — your email address, and your name if you give it, only after you confirm by clicking a link we email you.
- Forum content — anything you post publicly in the community forum.
- Server logs — standard web server records including IP addresses.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't add you to any mailing list without your explicit confirmed consent.
Newsletter
We use confirmed opt-in: you'll only ever be added after clicking a confirmation link sent to your address. Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete your account by emailing david@davidmgilbert.com.
Data retention
Editor's note: state how long you keep things, and why.
Editor's note: have this reviewed against the law that applies to you — in Australia the Privacy Act and the Spam Act; in the EU or UK, GDPR. The rules on consent and retention differ meaningfully between them.
